Lecturing / Educating
Mika is Professor of Electronic & Produced Music at Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Prior to this, Mika was Associate Lecturer in Music Technology and Audio Production and The University of Kent.
Mika lectured at London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) at The Place, London, UK, from 2008-2017.
At LCDS Mika mostly taught on a course called Music and Choreography as part of the second year of the BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance. The course looked at different ways that music can be utilised by the choreographer to different affect, and mentored the students through the creation of a new choreographic work. Mika was also an MA Supervisor at LCDS, and also supervised undergraduate dissertation work.
Mika has also lectured for Birkbeck, University of London in Sound and Music for Contemporary Dance on their BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance programme (2013-15).
From 2005-2007 Mika taught the Sonic Arts pathway on the Collaborative Processes module as part of the BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance programme at Trinity Laban.
Mika has also given guest lectures at other institutions including Berklee College of Music, University of East London, London Metropolitan University and Syracuse University.
